The Church of Scientology may be a vindictive cult, but at least they issue refunds.
Actor Jason Beghe – of Cane, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, CSI, and all the other shows that rip off each others' plotlines – got back the $60-$70,000 he paid toward future study when he finally cut ties with David Miscavige's legion. But now he never gets to talk to a Scientologist ever again. It's policy.
Beghe is, according to gossip Roger Friedman, "the bravest actor in Hollywood" for coming out against Scientology, which he was a member for 14 years and spent about $1 million becoming a senior level "OT5 auditor."
So what's Beghe doing now? Fashioning himself into a video blogger, posting clips to YouTube exposing the church's brainwashing ways and declaring his wish to "meet a motherfucking clear."
A second, longer video will be going up on YouTube Wednesday or Thursday. It’s not to make money or to get publicity for himself, Beghe says, and I believe him. "If it helps people, that’s what’s important."
And that’s because Beghe says that most Scientologists are completely insulated from the criticism that we all read or publish. All the jokes, the "South Park" stuff, anti-cult stories, real data about people who’ve suffered inside the sect largely go unnoticed by the Scientology community. "They just say, 'You don’t understand.'" [Fox 411]
Completely insulated? So the Church of Scientology is now … banning Google? [Update: Yes, apparently.]

Yes, scienos are THAT insulated. They are told to avoid negative news on scientology. I believe, and other anons can correct if I'm wrong, that it is "downstat" for them.
Mr. Beghe has at least 9000 new fans today.
I have always liked his work. I would not have watched him if I knew he was a scientolocultist. Good for him for cutting loose from the hive.
It is so SIMPLE
The $cientology Cult lies to you while they are
taking your money and brainwashing you.
One day you look around and think, "WTF, I've been conned"
Actually, yes on the Google question. From xenu.net: "In 1998, the Church of Scientology started to issue its members with a compact disk, on which was installed a number of pieces of software, including Netscape Navigator. This CD was provided to church adherents under colour of providing them with Internet access software and a web page design tool in order that they could create "personalised" web pages and surf the net. The documentation for this CD also stated that:
"(6) agree to use the specific Internet Filter Program that CSI has provided to you which allows you freedom to view other sites on Dianetics, Scientology or its principals without threat of accessing sites deemed to be using the Marks or Works in an unauthorized fashion or deemed to be improper or discreditable to the Scientology religion".
What most people who installed Netscape Navigator from this CD would not realise was that a censorware program had been incorporated into the installation process. This program gives no indication of its presence on the system, and offers no means of de-installation." This software effectively filtered ANY anti-Co$ search engine returns.
Jason Beghe? never heard of him before. I guess if it's the only way to get noticed then be a critic and band together with other critics. What a life.
Fred - never heard of Jason Beghe? Really? What about all of the Tech Training films he starred in? Or the all of the voiceovers he did for GoldenEra Productions? Oh right, let me guess: "You're not a Scientologist." But I bet you "have some friends who are and are getting a lot out of it." Am I close?
He's a brave guy.
For an organization that likes to style itself a Church. Scientology has some horrific policies for dealing with anyone who dares to speak out against them.
People who've criticized them previously, have been framed for terrorist offences (Google "Operation Freakout"), suffered attempted assassination in staged hit and runs (former Clearwater Mayor Gabriel Cazares). This all comes from documents seized by the FBI when they raided this so-called Church.
It's a deeply sinister self-help scam, that has used "religious image checklists" to ensure that they receive the protection rightly afforded to bona-fide religions.
I have nothing but respect for this man. He will know full well the risk he's taking, and will also know, that the most sensitive and embarrassing information he gave to the organization during years of "spiritual counselling," will now be culled and spread amongst his friends and employers in an attempt to discredit him.
If you ever wondered why so few people choose to publicly criticize this group. You now know why…
I dont really agree with the title of this article. This suggests that if you are unsatisfied with services received that you can get all or a portion of the money paid for those services back.
While a refund is broadly defined as
2 : to return (money) in restitution, repayment, or balancing of accounts
I think most people have a notion that when you receive a refund its for restitution for faulty or defective product or services. The video specifically mentions repayment and in this context that means
1 a: to pay back
This essentially means he closed his account and the balance of the funds in his account were returned to him. He didn't receive a refund for any services. You dont get your money back for the failed scientology tech or the horrible space opera fiction.
Also the phrasing of the amount '$60-$70,000' perhaps is a little confusing. anywhere from $60 to $70,000? or did you mean $60,000-$70,000? A minor issue but I think professional journalists might not encounter this problem.
Finally with regards to your suggestion that he is fashioning himself into a video blogger - this doesnt make any sense. He gave an interview to a person that has a video blog on youtube. Does this make him a video blogger? I thought this made him an interviewee.
All and all I found this article uninformative and poorly written. It seems you try to come off witty and sharp but I'm left with the impression that you really dont know much about what you are talking about. I understand this is just a gossip column and as such you dont feel you need to meet any journalistic standard, but all the same perhaps try to be a little more informative and a little more concise. Its no wonder this is the first I'm seeing of jossip.com. I suspect it will be the last.

Time to play Scientology Deathwatch
http://lifeisacookie.wordpress.....eathwatch/
Come on Fred, he was the hot boyfriend in "GI Jane" as well as "Melrose Place."
As GaiFox said above, I'm sure that you're just a tad bit upset that despite the best efforts of the COS, public opinion of the church is hitting a new low.
Tell us Fred, what is your stance on that teenage girl who murdered 2 members of her family? She's a Scientologist and psychotic. She needed meds and COS said no. So she snapped and killed 2 people. What is the COS spin on that?
Let me guess, you'll downplay the family's church connection and work to discredit them - just like you're trying to do with Beghe up there.
Shady.
Poorly written. Given real ammunition, given a refund for ammunition, given a video by a celebrity, Jossip can't write an informative article. The actual information is tossed in the pot and stirred with false information and implication. "Insulated" and unable to read the article? Get a clue, beanbrain!
The CoS "issues refunds???" WTF??
No, in fact, they only issue "refunds" after they have been sued and either (1) a judgment has been issued against them, or (2) a judgment is about to be issued against them. Those are not refunds, they are "civil judgments" and "courtroom settlements."
REFUNDS?? COMMON, that's not arguable.
Specifically, money that is held by the CoS for "future study" and returned is also not a "refund." It is money held in trust for Joseph's benefit.
The "refund" language implies that the CoS gives back money for the sale of its defective services, after they have been rendered and determined to be defective. The COS does not do that. EVER. They prefer to blame the victim– the only reason the victim did not get his super powers, lost all his money, and ended up an emotional basket case is because he was not "committed" to the "tech."
As a Scientologist, I just have to commend Jason on his courage to speak out about this organization's deception and greed.
People like myself and Terryeo among others have been trying to expose the truth about Scientology, but our efforts are constantly undermined by active suppression by agents of the OSA who insist on making posts in my name that support Scientology!
Beware the OSA - Scientology's Office of Special Affairs, a clandestine group within the organization that operates to discredit criticism of the CoS using all methods. They play dirty, setting up operatives to harrass critics, file false police reports, and even harm pets (yes, they do that.)
Hopefully Jason's high profile celebrity cannot be messed with, and he must have had a pretty clean file to avoid the usual blackmail tactics, but people like myself and Terryeo who are working to expose the truth about the CoS are being actively suppressed right now.
Thank you, Jason, for helping us spread the truth about this nefarious, greedy and abusive organization.
bgodley, with eyes wide open, thanks to Anonymous
Poor Tom Cruise, look what the monster miscavige did to this sweet nice boy.
Read the story here:

I'm worry for Tom because he is trash by co$ and the retarded media now too.
Shame, shame on Scientology for scamming people!
I'd like to reiterate the comment made by Don Marks and suggest that you, Jossip, correct your article. For a start, to avoid telling complete lies, replace the word "will" in the headline to "claims to".
quote Don Marks informative post>>>>

bgodley:
You are why we protest. Thank you for the comment!
Anyone who does not know… Scientology killed the cat Mudkippers of an anonymous member they fair gamed after he protested!
The corporation must be stopped, because they will not stop for anything to "clear the world" aka make everyone a Scientologist.
Terryeo in post number 12…Scientology OSA shill…checkout http://www.encyclopediadramatica/terryeo for more on him….
