Despite someone trying their damnedest to keep confirmed homewrecker Rielle Hunter's website out of the public eye, it was really only a matter of time before the proof of this woman's weirdness surfaced. Entitled "Being Is Free," Hunter's site is chock-full of New Age-isms and talk of the zodiac, chakras, and spiritual healers, none of which granted Hunter enough serenity to resist the temptation of a married man with a dying wife. And while the site is offline, we got a look at the whole mess of it.
If the Edwards camp is responsible for destroying evidence of this woman's online writings, kudos to them — it nearly worked. Edwards' name, if it was ever mentioned on the site, was scrubbed free from the version we've seen.
So what is on there? Passages that read with just a touch more sense than anything Rosie O'Donnell ever posted:
"Who knows why? Who cares? Whatever the reasons, could be a billion, obsessed girl that I am, I must have the damn book…..Justify justify justify addict addict addict. And, clearly, I need more reminders because clearly I can't remember, so clearly I don't have enough, oh my God, the comedy of it all. Somebody please stop the insanity."
And:
I will however share I had a story filled with an intense amount of emotional and mental suffering. Major dysfunction junction. And, for as long as I can remember I had a relentless desire for truth. This turned out to be a helpful combo. I was never comfortable, never felt enough love, never satisfied, never fulfilled and I would not stop until that ended. Point being: If I can wake up anyone can, what it takes is the desire and the commitment to do so.
There are several references to Hunter becoming "spiritually enlightened" in her posts, as if this was normally something one would blog about.
You have to wonder what drew together Edwards, with his proletarian work ethic, and Hunter, with her New Age bourgeoisisms. (She was hired by Edwards to produce documentaries, when she had almost no experience.) But at the very least, a campaign aide — other than Andrew Young — should've brushed up on her web weirdness:

So this woman is not your typical piece on the side. Now, whether you feel bad for Hunter, who may not have ever been "there" enough to realize the consequences of getting involved with Edwards, or angry at the hypocrisy of a woman who talks about spiritual peace and self-confidence and then put a price on her silence, is up to you.
