Not sure if you'll be able to believe this, but there's beef in the world of urban music. Unfortunately, this kerfuffle has none of the simplicity of East Coast vs. West Coast. In the case of Ciara vs. Vibe, most people involved have no idea what's going on, and some people thought to be involved might not be. But you'll be more inclined to click if we mention the controversy includes naked bodies, won't ye?

See, Ciara's fully nude on the October '08 cover of Vibe magazine, right next to a line of text reading, "I'm not gonna hold back too much." But if Internet rumors are to be believed – and they always are! – Ciara was not actually naked during the magazine's photo shoot. The scuttlebutt claims Ciara was in underwear at the shoot, a fact Vibe's crack team of Photoshoppers then distorted without the singer's permission.

Vibe editor in chief Danyel Smith says she wasn't at the shoot, but that she knows for a fact Ciara was naked, because being naked was Ciara's idea. ("It was love and kisses and nakedness," Smith told New York's KIIS-FM.) And Ciara herself told the Web site DimeWars that the shoot "was pretty fun." Adding, "It was my first time being this open for a photo shoot. … I'm older. … I'm in an even more experimental and really fun-feeling phase right now."

OK, so both Vibe and Ciara are cool with the photo shoot, right? Not necessarily. Currently, calls for an interview with Ciara about the pictures are being directed to Ciara's attorney, who then refuses to comment. Is the R&B diva, like a hungover sorority girl, regretting what she did last night?

If it's confirmed that Ciara was indeed nude on the cover of Vibe, one thing's for sure: We're immediately deleting "Thug Style" from our iPod, because enough is enough. Where have all the classy girls who sing about getting humped by gangsters gone?
