The Jennifer Mee Story: How To Turn A Bad Case Of Hiccups Into The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Morning TV

Hiccup%20Girl.JPG

Remember Jennifer Mee? You know, that girl who can't stop hiccuping, much to the delight of exploitative morning show producers everywhere?

Well, as you may recall, Today was fortunate enough to "scoop" the competition by landing an exclusive sit-down with a hopelessly hiccuping Jennifer. But now word comes that top competitor, Good Morning America, refused to go down without a fight.

The competition for her story became so frenzied over the weekend that NBC's Today show changed Jennifer and her mother's New York hotel after another network's exhaustive attempts to get an interview.

Representatives from ABC's Good Morning America called Jennifer's home 57 times on Sunday and slipped notes under her hotel room door, her family said.

They called Jennifer's home 57 times. In a single day.

We'd have responded by calling the police, and having them throw those GMA stalkers in the clink. Instead, Jennifer's mom, Rachel Robidoux, admits "[GMA] made me feel guilty," but ultimately decided "it wasn't right to ditch the Today show."

(The guilt? Possibly stemming from the fact that NBC had bankrolled their entire all-expenses pay trip to New York.)

In any event, we can't wait what lengths Ellen DeGeneres will go to nab Jennifer as a guest. But our guess is Jennifer—and her mom—are holding out for Oprah "Moneybags" Winfrey.

GMA is the psycho stalker boyfriend I never had.

p.s. why don't you just unplug your phone? not pick up the phone? after the 30-40th time, I think I'd recognize that area code.

As a PR rep I have led several national and international news stories and have gotten caught between producers from competing morning shows and news shows. It's a nasty business. They use every trick in the book. I always made it clear that first-come first-served, so whoever called first gets the first interview(s). Here's one example of how far they'll go…I schedule the live interview for the show that called first. One of the other shows demands to do a taped interview before the live one…then they air the interview as if it were live (we call them like-live's) at the same time that live interview is really going on. Confusing! Try being in the middle of it!

Medications can reduce hiccups. Among those with scientific evidence of effectiveness are chlorpromazine, metoclopramide and baclofen (although side effects may be limiting). A variety of other medications have been suggested, though unproven. These include anticonvulsants (such as phenytoin), antidepressants (such as amitriptyline) and even marijuana. Also drinking a glass of water from opposite end of glass while bending over (like trying to touch your toes , while standing up).

Certain drugs are thought to cause hiccups. Discontinuing these medicines can an effective cure. Examples include midazolam (a relative of Valium), some types of chemotherapy, and digoxin (a heart medication).

God Bless and Good Luck!

What they need to do, is slap that bitch on the back, REALLY hard, so that the bitch will digest all that methane gas backed up in her stomach intestines. Then punch her in the stomach to let it settle. Also, she might need to change her eating habits and see if that works. She should try farting more often, and excersing, because she looks out of shape.

Living in Melbourne I have no option but send my knowledge by any em available. I am 60 and have practised the principle of Reflexology for 30 yrs. The method i have sent was discovered some 40 yrs ago. It is not a home remedy but has been tried and tested and proven itself numerous times. The method: take a handkerchief and grasp tongue; squeeze all over; then slowly pull until you feel a 'tug' at the root; hold for 1o secs and slowly release. Repeat only if essential. It is believed that this method releases spasm and allows a return to original constant state. Would you please send this to Mee because if condition returns it may be worse than before and this method will save her having to go through it all again.
Regards Victor

PS: on Net you may find a Mildred Carter, the Lady most responsible for the development of Reflexology.

There is an old Indian remedy for hiccup. Hiccup means someone is thinking about you. You should guess the identity of who is thinking about you. Hiccup will stop once you make the correct guess.

a few years ago i was hospitilized after hiccuping every
2-3 sec for about 3 weeks. I began hiccuping 2 hours after taking a certain pill. While in hospital i was subject of an experiment. My luck was that my mother did not rest a minute looking for the cure. *** Noni Juice ***

Hiccups can be stopped by drawing in the abdominal muscles for a few seconds. I've used this technique with success. It also works to relieve acid reflux.
