Last night at Shea Stadium, everyone's second favorite New York baseball team unleashed a new team song, to be played throughout the 2006 season. The Mets are ditching fan favorite "Meet The Mets" and welcoming in the new "Our Team. Our Time," a gimmick retooled for the MTV demographic.

"Our Team. Our Time" echoes the Mets' marketing slogan for this season and repeats the title phrase in its lyrics no fewer than 11 times.

Its hip-hop beat makes it a tad more contemporary than "Meet the Mets," in which fans are encouraged to "bring your kiddies" and "bring your wife."

Now fans are encouraged to bring in the noise, bring in the funk.
