Today is the beginning of Fashion Week. OMG, right?
In the short window of time when you might have any interest in Fashion Week and when you see the phrase "Fashion Week" and you want to die, we had Intern Anastasia introduce us to some new designers and give us her thoughts, which are entirely valid even if she has no fashion experience.
Mandate of Heaven by Carissa Ackerman
Word On The Runway:
Taking its name from an ancient Chinese magisterial concept, fashion line Mandate of Heaven rules with a soft hand, translating its inspirations from another era into whimsical clothes.
- Nylon magazine
In addition to her Mandate Of Heaven line, which offers a wide range of cozy-sexy sweaters, skirts and dresses. … Carissa also designs Opiate, a not so casual line of terry cloth undergarments, hand painted with naive depictions (rainbows, talking bunnies, marital scenes, etc…) by her boyfriend Ariel.
-Paper magazine
More importantly, Anastasia says: Mandate of Heaven looks like what would happen if Lindsay Lohan circa Mean Girls moved to Brooklyn. Opiate, her line of “terry cloth undergarments” looks like ‘70s era Lolita with drugs.

I've always thought your comments were funny in person, but reading them one after another is absolutely hilarious. Although, you're best when delivering harsh, witty and totally true criticism. Praise just isn't your thing.
