You know the deal. Fashion Week is about more than big names. And Intern Anastasia does some investigative work about less well known designers after the jump. And we already lived our dream of spelling "Anastasia" right the first time.
Word on the Runway:
Maria Cornejo makes directional yet timeless clothes. Her collections change ever so subtly by a process of fine-tuning, not radical change.
Again, the label that has cultivated a reputation for interesting geometries, experimental fabrics, and arresting patterns displayed some impressive pieces. … Maria Cornejo has a unique ability to make forms that should appear heavy with internal construction (particularly a rhombus-shaped dress) seem light and airy.
Anastasia says: I tried coming up with witty pop cultural references for this collection, but all my brain gave me was: Ooh, shiny! Lime green! Basically, a five-year-old and an MIT professor playing fashion design game of Mad Libs, and you have Zero + Maria Cornejo.
