The New York Times Vs. Rick Davis
The Scapegoat we've all been waiting for

The New York Times wasted no time alerting the general public what candidate it was throwing its weight behind this upcoming election. So when the NYT did a bit of investigative journalism into the role of McCain campaign manager Rick Davis, and his previous firm's work with now defunct loan giant Freddie Mac, the right hit back with an attack of "extreme bias".

Steve Schmidt, senior strategist for McCain, called the Times Obama cheerleaders and said the publication was "150 percent in the tank" for Democratic candidate, which the Times duly noted.

So how did the paper respond to the allegations?

By posting another look at Davis' role within his company's relationship with the mortgage lender:

Mr. McCain’s campaign has been attacking Senator Barack Obama, his Democratic rival, for ties to former officials of the mortgage lenders, both of which have long histories of cultivating allies in the two parties to fend off efforts to restrict their activities. Mr. McCain has been running a television commercial suggesting that Mr. Obama takes advice on housing issues from Franklin D. Raines, former chief executive of Fannie Mae, a contention flatly denied by Mr. Raines and the Obama campaign.

From 2000 to the end of 2005, Mr. Davis had received nearly $2 million as president of the coalition, the Homeownership Alliance, which the companies created to help them oppose new regulations and protect their status as federally chartered companies with implicit government backing. That status let them borrow cheaply, helping to fuel rapid growth but also their increased purchases of the risky mortgage securities that were their downfall.

If this turns out to be true and not just a Times grudge match (which it doesn't appear to be) than can we place all the blame for the economic downward spiral on Rick Davis' boyish shoulders? We need a scapegoat here, and the anonymous bureaucrats at the banks just aren't cutting it anymore.

Dear concerned citizens of America and Mass Media of the U.S.A.
As a concerned registered independent voter, forensic psychiatrist, disabled American I made my decision to vote after taking into consideration following joint tickets attributes and characteristics.

1. Has the ticket shown adequate calmness, coolness, and connectedness's under pressure to lead our nation [Presidential Temperament]?
2. Has the ticket shown sustained sound "Judgment and Caliber"?
3. Has the ticket shown adequate understanding of depth and degree to address the crucial challenges in their their purpose, policies, and positions [ Honesty, integrity and sincerity]?
4. Has the ticket sufficient "understanding and knowledge" of inside Washington workings [Experience]"?
5. Has the ticket reservoir resilience, wisdom, and vigor to address the present and future f our beloved "Great-grand Nation"?
6. Has the ticket enough joint foreign policy experience and exposure based on " Values, Virtues, Vastness, and " [American moral soul]"?
7. Has their campaign talk, slogans, ads, plans, and programs based on facts and are they free of fear, fiction, frivolous labels, unfair attacks, negativity, and impulsively? [No "imminent danger to national
security and safety"].
8. Has the ticket genuinely kept on message of country first and politics last and avoided copying [Message change"]?
9.Has the ticket message stayed away from Culture divide and war[ Disaster prevention ]?
10. Has the ticket resisted being surrounded, supported and surrogate's by divisiveness, distortion's, and destructive characters, [ Real patriotism VS shiftiness and shameless parrot-ism]?
11. Has the ticket thoughtful, real non-partisan, & non-impulsive plans to address our current economic crisis or political tactics and temperamental statements.
I have personally and professionally concluded that OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will lift and inspire our greatgrand nation back to its greatness within and restore our global standing with the use of maximum, firm
international diplomacy and minimal force if and when indicated {" Peace thru Strenght "}.
12. The era of responsibility has to replace irresponsibilty and unaccountability will change to accountability and transparancy. The Wall Street greed will change to Main Street need.

Yours sincerely,

Well, the McCain campaign has already written off the "Times," so the "Times" might as well keep hammering.

a random thought, but, the above still photo seems to be an uncharacteristically attractive one of Rick Davis, who has got to have the most unattractive presence on video while talking this side of Dick Cheney . ..and I am referring to his freaky mouth lol
