The Public Starts To Realize How Inane Reality TV Is
Still Oblivious To The Stupidity of Scripted Drama
It took three months, but the public has grown tired of reality TV. Year-to-year ratings comparisons are beginning to reflect the ongoing writers strike. The CW lost 50% of its 18-49 audience from a year ago, ABC slipped by 23%, CBS by 26% and Fox by 15%.
Meanwhile, at the National Association of Television Program Executives conference in Las Vegas, Jeff Zucker called for a change in network programming. With insights like that, we could be CEO of NBC Universal.

I'm sick of ALL REALITY SHOWS. I'm sick of all reality competition shows. In fact, who needs writers anymore? Even a show like "Law and Order" just steals storylines from the headlines of newspapers and changes the names. I've actually gone back to good old PBS. I'm thinking of saving a whole heck of a lot of money and cancelling Cable totally. I mean, Bravo and Arts and Entertainment with reality shows and horrible real murder stories like TruTV and Spike? Why bother? If they can dip real low, it's just not worth turning on the TV.
It's because after the strike that is all there is left to watch. It's not as entertaining anymore. You get sick of it.
I like watching Top Chef and project Runway on Bravo. While Law and Order uses storylines from
the newspapers, and may change names, it still invovles having writers.
TruTV,well I think Time Warner their parent company made a big mistake when they changed the
name from CourtTV to TruTv.At least you know what you were getting in that regards.
CourtTv has on trials and other things, hence on the murder and other stuff.
I watch PBS too at times just because of all this reality stuff.
Though I do watch Numbers and some other shows.
