The Real Atrocity with that Vogue Cover

In all the blog chatter about Vogue's King Kong cover, have we, perhaps, missed the most fundamental issue?
Jennifer Perez, art director at, Perez Dezign: "Doesn't every cover perpetuate stereotypes? The weirdest thing about this cover is how bad Gisele looks." [Folio]

You are utterly right! This was the first
thing I noticed when I bought the issue
and had a close look at the cover. It doesn't
seem like any attention was paid to her face!
She looks too old, too strained - an ultimately
not like herself at all! It is hard to feel badly
about a gorgeous woman like Gisele, but I do - and
am thankful that was not MY face on the cover!!
@Fletcher:
What you're trying to say is that they didn't put enough pancake makeup on her.Huh?
The reality of seeing her as close as possible to her real self scares you. Yes it does!
Now, as for the picture, it is a throw back to when scared whites used the cinema to portray blacks a savages(funny, if we were so damn psycho, why the hell did they bring us into the bossom of their paradigm?). I could on and on but why bother. The picture is doing exactly what is was intended to do and that was to cause a stir! Besides, Gisele isn't even a American white women. She's Brazilian.
Kill the noise on this tired ass story.
Terrence,
Get your facts straight. Gisele is from Brazil, making her nationality Brazilian.
Her ethinicity is German. So she may not be American, but she damn sure is "white".
a picture says a 1,000 words lebron even looks like the gorilla. damn it does depict a tone of godzilla w/ a white women headed for the jungle of NEW YORK. he's young maybe his twisted ass won't do no shit like this again. now we need a picture of a white basketball player kick'n in the door to rape him a slave women tak'n some of that poon tang like he did back in the day. lets be fair and balanced.
I really find the relationships between the 2 pictures quite a stretch. But maybe it the sublimial message of the devils horns sticking out of his head that inspires the prejudice in readers.
hes just passionate about basketball. nothing wrong with that.
@Terrence
She may be Brazilian but her ethnicity is German. So she is still a white woman.
