The Super Troopergate Findings
Palin is Abba-solutely guilty

Troopergate '08 is finally culminating in something! Will it change anybody's thinking that Sarah Palin that put unethical amounts of pressure on Alaskan authorities to fire her ex-brother-in-law Michael Wooten for personal reasons? Maybe not, but at least now it's in writing thanks to a 200-plus-page report from an independent panel made up by former Alaskan prosecutor Stephen E. Branchflower.

Branchflower's investigation comes at the end of a three-month outcry from public officials in Wasilla, after Palin fired the head of Alaska's public safety commission, Walt Monegan, when he didn't play ball and take Wooten off the task-force.

Of course, crazy S'palin sees it another way: she wasn't doing anything wrong in trying to get a guy fired for personal, familiar reasons! It's just the liberal elite of Alaska out to get her, again:

"I'm thankful that the report has shown that there was no illegal or unethical activity there," she told reporters at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania on Saturday, adding that the investigation was "a partisan kind of process that had been undertaken by some of the legislators who haven't been real happy with anything that I've done along the way as governor".

Wait wait wait. Illegal? Maybe not. The investigation found Palin was acting within her rights as governor when she sacked Monegan. But almost everyone agrees that her conflict of interest in the case was unethical, as outlined in some silly document called the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act, as was her husband's "extensive approaches to officials in which he called on them to fire Wooten."

But more importantly: Lady, when you've resorted to saying the legislators of your own district are rooting for Obama, your case starts to sound a little weak. Because that means either a) You're right and they are partisan, which means you must have really ticked people off while holding public office or, b) You're wrong and the state officials are being objective in their investigation, which just makes you an unethical liar-face.

If my sister was married to an animal who tased my nephew in the midst of a bad divorce, threatened to kill his sister-in-law and father-in-law who was a state trooper sworn to serve the people with a disciplinary file an inch thick, as Governor I would make sure that this guy's actions did not go unchallenged. I would seek to have him removed from a job that serves the people. The difference is your report doesn't mention those little facts that get in the way of your smear.

In a desperate attempt to spin this mess, Palin is now claiming that the Troopergate investigation clears her of any wrongdoing, which it does not. We can't afford eight more years of another administration that abuses their power. Sign this petition urging Palin to stop the lies and walk the ethics reform talk by removing herself from the presidential ticket now: http://go.care2.com/17292327
