The Truth Comes Out. And So Will Ryan Seacrest…Eventually

Alright, for those of you who watched last night's American Idol and are already demanding a recap—back off. (Seriously. The show is on like eight times a week, and those recaps take time, people!) That said, we wanted to assure you that we did, in fact, see the show, and yes, we certainly enjoyed the amazingly awkward banter between judge Simon Cowell and (horribly dressed) host Ryan Seacrest. Especially the part where Seacrest may or may not have been outed:

Seacrest: Simon, any advice on the high heels?
Cowell: You should know, Ryan!
Seacrest: (awkward pause) Stay out of my closet!
Cowell: Come out!

What'd we tell you? Pure television magic! Anyhow, seeing as we're far too lazy busy to write an actual in-depth summary of last night's episode at present,** we figured we'd tide you over with this poignant video clip, that comes to us courtesy of our gay younger brother, Queerty.

**That's an afternoon job!

The producers of this show need to get their shit together. This is not harmless banter. All this constant gay-baiting on this show has serious consequences. And I really don't give a crap if either one of them is actually gay.

Having these two men gay-bait each other insultingly, and with real malice, week after week on the highest-rated show in America is doing a huge disservice to gay America, and America as a whole. It needs to stop.

I agree with Adam. This subtle gay bashing on Idol has gone on far too long. My boyfriend and I cringe everytime Cowell makes one of these remarks which we are so growing very tired of.

I'm with Adam and Bobby… the message being put out there is not cool and propagates negative stereotypes. Think of all the teenagers that watch these two idiots bully eachother about being gay. There's enough of that in the schoolyards. GREAT message to send out there! And who really cares if Ryan is or not. They need to stick to what the show's about… MUSIC. Even if Cowell's taste and opinion is questionable in that area. I'm over AI.

Grow up!! We can't say ANYTHING NOW!! Everything has to be so politically correct? BS! This is why we are in such trouble in the US now.. we can't say anything without someone getting insulted.

Does anyone REALLY think that this 'banter' is accidental?
Once you might say its a slip.
But hey, it gets the housewives something to talk about during the karaoke show.

If you're expecting tact from American Idol, then you must have lived under a rock for these past, I dunno, five years. And if you really want them to stop, send a nasty letter to the studios and threaten to personally stop watching unless they stop with the gay jokes. I'm sure it'll completely solve the problem.

okay enough enough! Gay, straight..who cares. It is entertaining television. Every week we who love American Idol can not wait to hear the comments between Simon and Ryan. Although I do believe that Ryan handles himself well with these stupids comments from Simon.

Also, I just want to say that my favorite contestant this season is LAKISHA~ GO LAKISHA!!!!.. The girl can sang anything, looks great, and absolutely deserves to be in the final two. I also really like Blake Lewis, Chris Richardson, and Melinda. Sanjaya should quit the show and then bring back Sabrina who I think was one of the best female vocalists. What do you think?
