The Up-Side of These Annoying Magazine Ads

magpopup.jpg Advertisements like this one, which physically pop out of the magazine, or those with blinking lights, pop-up ads, kiss-on lipstick samples, scratch-off scents, melt-in-your-mouth taste strips and even pocket squares, will likely become much more regular as magazines look to stem the flood of ad revenue away from print to the web, by convincing marketers there's an advantage to the tangible.

One the plus side: The thickness of these ads will keep titles like Time and Giant from looking anemic.
