By now you've likely already seen the extensive coverage of the crash involving two news helicopters in Phoenix that were following a police chase of suspected truck stealer Christopher Jones. (Not to be confused with the stunt pilot death in Ohio.) Somehow, authorities are hoping to charge Jones with the deaths of the four newsmen who died when the two choppers collided. If he hadn't stole the truck, after all, the news media would have never been forced to cover it.
And in other illogic, reporter Mike Watkiss – who believes Americans "think that television just comes out of the air – is now labeling the late foursome as "warriors." We mean no disrespect, especially at this unfortunate time, but warriors? Really? For feeding our sensationalist want for spectacle and the network's fiscal need for ratings? That's certainly courage under fire.
The media is over the top. "People think television just comes out in the air?" Do these morons listen to the crap they say? Risk? Warriors? No one is happy that anyone has died. There is risk just driving your car to work. These people took that on as part of their job. They are following a police pursuit. It happens. They are no more a warrior than the mother driving her kids to school, as a matter of fact, the mother is doing something really useful. The media is so full of itself.
Also, if the police charge the car theif with homicide, well, the cops are out of control also. Since 9/11 the cops have been targeting legal citizen's and giving illegal's in this country a free pass.
