Things You Might Have Missed: Glenn Beck Choking Up During Palin Introduction

Whoops, Glenn Beck's new Fox show started this week and everyone forgot to watch. In case you missed it, Beck's very first interview was with former VP candidate Sarah Palin, whom he introduced by saying he felt a very close bond with, because he also has a special needs child. There is something oddly moving and ballsy about crying on your first day of work.Video after the jump.

Seriously, I didn't know I could ever feel like Glenn Beck was anything other than a smarmier, younger Rush Limbaugh, but he might have just convinced me there for a moment. Oh well, he has mucho time in his contract to prove that he's an inhuman automaton.

How much blush does she really need in order to go on TV and say nothing, as usual?

what exactly makes her a "great patriot"? that she put her own political ambitions ahead of what would be best for the country?

These two dopes make my brain feel like it's turning to liquid and about to run out my ears.

Why was I not surprised that Beck started crying? Oh I know, he cries on video at least 2 times a year. Last year at this time it was from 'roids! He was in a "really dark place" so to speak…

Sarah is amazingly stupid! It is truly remarkable that McCain picked her for VP. He must of been captivated by her legs or he seriously wanted to lose the election. By the way why wasn't Sarah invited to the McCain dinner that Obama threw the other day!

mimi, the GOP was clearly thinking in a sexist way…they figured that a woman VP candidate, ANY woman, would win over the disappointed Hilary supporters.

they didn't realize that the hilary backers supported her because of her intelligence and strength, not just because of her gender.

methinks they should have vetted her a little bit more thoroughly.

Remember Anon: Jesus loves the lil' retarded and mongoloid babys too (like number 4 and 8) Jesus loves them just as much even when they don't have enough sense to come out of the rain, or see thru somebody's bullshit. Let the rest of us think and clean up thier mess while number 4 and 8 color outside the lines. It's O.K.

I was working at a radio station in Tampa on 9/11/01 down the hall from the station Beck's talk show started at.
The bosses decided, because of 9/11, this was the day they should launch their plan of syndicating Beck, so they'd put him up on a bunch of AM stations around Florida, including ours.

Mid-afternoon, we switched over from CBS News coverage to Beck… who proceeded to sob his way through about 5 minutes before I went into my program director's office and said "can we get this sniveling baby off our air and get back to real news?"

Thankfully, my boss agreed with me. Too bad the rest of Clear Channel/Premiere's management, along with Headline News and now Fox News Channel didn't realize what I did–that the guy's a phony who'd sell his mother for a buck.

Lets hope not. ROFL, she can't even take bloggers crap. What would she do when someone with power threatens the U.S.?

Blame the bloggers and media? All the bloggers are just kids in moms basement, and the media just pointed out how stupid she was…… is……

Notice she went after Caroline Kennedy, trying to say they treated her different then Caroline…. Yet it was the media that pointed out that Caroline had no experience what so ever…….

Palin has a good record of sound government and anti-corruption in Alaska, and she has the courage to stand up against the Washington elites.

She was the only member of either ticket with executive experience. Mc-thingy was headed for disaster without her, but she brought him 47% of the popular vote, even when the Dems outspent the GOP two-to-one. Then she lifted Chambliss to a landslide in Georgia. She has the brains, the knowledge and the values to lead.

The liberal left are terrified of her. Witness the vacuous comments by liberals above - typical of the vacuous media "criticism" of her during the campaign. As it becomes obvious that Obama is no more than a trendy clone of Bush, leaders like Palin will be the future. Bring on 2010 and 2012.

(sung to the theme of ???????The Beverly Hillbillies???????)

Come and listen to a story ???????bout a gal named Sarah

Not too many brains but a whole lot of mascara.

Her hair is in a beehive and she has some lipstick too,

She tried to run for V.P. but she didn????????t have a clue.

Knowledge that is, Bush Doctrine?, Job of V.P. ?

Well the first thing ya know Obama left her in the dust,

Then we all learned about her in-law in a bust.

She said, ???????The Johnston family are so dumb that they just drool???????

Then daughter Bristol and Levi dropped right on out of school.

Embarrasment that is, Birth????????n Babies, Quittin???????? Jobs.

Well now its time to say good-bye to Sarah and her kin,

The First Dude and his wife have some wounds that need lick????????n.

The whole Palin clan now studies the encyclopedia,

So they can handle ???????Gotcha Questions??????? from the mainstream media.

Couric, that is. Charlie Gibson, Tina Fey..

Y????????all come back now, y????????hear?

What is it that gets people so ANGRY about Sarah Palin? She is highly accomplished and does more in a day than most people do in their entire lives. She clearly has compassion for others and her private self is the same as her public image (she is no hypocrite when it comes to her pro-life stance. How about all the liberals blabbing about how great public education is, yet THEY SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS?). When Palin's email account was hacked, if there had been ANYTHING remotely negative about her, it would have been all over the media. Why is is acceptable to call her a hillbilly, insult her looks, her children, etc. when OBAMA IS OFF LIMITS. Has anyone ever publicly insulted his daughters? Have comedians made fun of them? Yet young Piper Palin is routinely mocked along with Palin's newborn. I guess when the world realized they could not make fun of Obama because of his race, they had to go into overdrive on Palin.

Excellent post! I am amazed at the myopia in this country today. People with tears streaming down their faces, and media pundits choking back tears for a man who mouths vague platitudes with very little of any substance. Yet mention an accomplished woman like Palin, and it's tons of hillbilly jokes and personal insults - non stop. The whole world has gone crazy. We have no journalism anymore, just idol worship and mockery. And the people have swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

1. I didn't think a blogster could match Andrew Sullivan's obssessive vitriole about all things Palin until I read this utterly repugnant aside about a father momentarily losing his grip when he thought of his daughter who was born with cerebral palsy. In a season of leftist low blows, we may have now have a standard for journalistic knes to the groin that might not be equalled.

2. To Ken: There's good news and bad news about your brain: it's not not turning to liquid although I would consult with a neurologist, however. Ruminations about one's brain liquifying and exiting the skull through the ear is often an early symptom of mad cow disease.

3. To Mimi: McCain wanted to win but your right: on more than one occasion when Palin would leave the room, he would start dry humping a chair. It was kind of a running joke between McCain, Kissinger, and Bill Clinton. About the Obama/McCain party: unless you were McCain who is trying to rehabilitate his image, why would she want to go–particularly if she went someone like you who clearly detests her would then be asking, "Why isn't she tending business in Anchorage?"

4. Lynnrockets: keep your day job.

Democrats are "terrified" of Sarah Palin? Well, ok… we're terrified that she might actually get elected one day. Say what you want about Obama, but the man is smart, Columbia and Harvard graduate. I don't want my President to be "just like me" I want him/her to be smarter than me! Sarah seems like she might be fun to take to a Nascar race… but she is NOT president material.
