Just when you thought the bloodbath at Time Inc. was finally draining, more slasher news: The Time Inc. Bookstop is closing in March. If you're unfamiliar, the Bookstop is a place where staffers can do things like buy magazines and purchase books — many of which Time Inc. publishes! But now "with the many nearby and online shops, employees now have many alternatives for purchasing cards, books, music and DVD's," there's just no reason to keep those clerks earning minimum wage for ringing up the purchases you should be making on Amazon.
The full memo after the jump.

Re: Bookstop Closure
The Time Inc. Bookstop will be closing for business on March 16, 2007.
The Bookstop provided employees with a convenient shopping
destination, but with the many nearby and online shops, employees now
have many alternatives for purchasing cards, books, music and DVD's.
For your convenience, we will continue to maintain a number of
amenities on the second floor - including stamp machines, vending
machines, the pharmacy kiosk and MetroCards (which will be available
at the cash registers in Time Café once the Bookstop closes). We will
also be holding clearance sales at the Bookstop, so please be sure to
check Time Traveler for those dates.
As always, we'd like to know more about what services and amenities
are important to you as a Time Inc. employee. We appreciate your
thoughts and ideas, so please send any suggestions to
XXX@timeinc.com.
Thank you for your business over the years - we look forward to your
continued support during this transition.
