Tuckered Out

In this four-question interview, MSNBC's exiting anchor Tucker Carlson says: "Can’t complain about MSNBC. I wish they weren’t killing the show - I like it and think it’s good - but other than that, they’ve been nice to me." [BHDC]

I just discovered Tucker's show a few weeks ago and found that I looked forward to it all day long. Can't believe you're taking him off the air. I think he's brilliant, funny, to-the-point and, not that it matters, very good-looking. What a mistake.

My husband and I were very disappointed to learn that Friday was Tucker Carlson's last day. We really enjoy the show - fresh and intelligent. The ending of the show is a loss for MSNBC.

Tucker's was easily my favorite show on MSNBC. I found he didn't take himself nor the political punditry too seriously, and would always dream up the most ridiculous metaphors and comparisons to make the point to his guests (I really enjoyed that btw).

He was a true conservative in the Goldwater tradition and a libertarian. The day buffoon Tom De Lay complained to CNN that he wasn't a "true conservative" was the day I started liking him even more.

Like him or not, he did treat everyone with respect, often had great guests on the show (usually the women combos were best, I loved A.B. Stoddard) and unlike the "conservativa" set over at Fox, his views weren't merely the White House "talking points" for that news cycle.

I will miss Tucker.. I hope he gets a new show elswhere, I will tune in.

I'll leave him with the advice he got from Larry King that he talks about in his book (get it on Amazon for pennies, it's a very entertaining and insightful read!).

"Take the show business and your show seriously, but not TOO seriously".

Tucker was cancelled after his show defending white men against unfair attacks. He was also one of the only members of Big Media to support Ron Paul openly.

The comment by Bogey below says it all. I too loved watching TUCKER. Why couldn't he have replaced the yellow, obnoxious Chris Mathews. The only other good guy on there is Tim Tussert.
I tried to make my disappointment regarding Tucker's cancellation know to MSNBC but they don't seem to want to hear from listeners. I couldn't find an email address. Guess I won't be watching MSNBC anymore.

Tuckers too good to be gone for long, I'm sure he will surface somehwere.

Anyone know of a place where we can send out comments to and our support of Tucker to Tucker so he will know how much he will be missed ?

Bubey, you can send e-mails to viewerservices@msnbc.com and you can find other e-mail addresses to mgmt on the web, but it won't do much good now (and obviously didn't do too much before).

Tucker's a big boy, his ratings blew and such is the cutthroat business he (and many of us) are in. Maybe he wasn't a good fit with the "Olberman" crowd that seems to gravitate to MSNBC these days (for the record, I like Olbermann, even though I don't always agree with his political slant, he's a funny guy)

btw.. I like Matthews as well. Different flavors from Tucker, but all good, but Tucker was my fave.

I don't quite get the Gregory "promotion". Seems to be part of an effort to fully integrate NBC faces into the cable network (with Andrea Mitchelll getting a show). David Gregory is certainly a good reporter, smart and tenacious, but hosting a show requires some other skillsets that I am not sure he posseses.

For starters, the host should be entertaining and one who can nicely stir the proverbial soup if needed.

Scarborougg and Olbermann are especially good at this.
