The New York Times isn't perfect. Between Alessandra Stanley's never-ending supply of White-Out and the wedding announcements that exaggerate the bride's academic prowess, the NYT has been known to make it's fair share of mistakes.
Like, for instance, the other day, when they said that The View was still "rosy" even after O'Donnell's departure.
Since O'Donnell left "The View" on May 25, the ABC talk-fest has lost over 400,000 viewers.
Yes, I know: the New York Times said last week that the numbers were up from a year ago, and that without Rosie the show was still popular.
Not exactly. According to figures obtained from Nielsen/Soundscan by our research department, "The View" sank like a stone during the first two weeks of June, right after Rosie left.
Looks like the ABC producers will need to get another gimmick, and fast. Because it turns out Elisabeth Hasselbeck can't turn on the waterworks without her loudmouthed liberal counterpart, Barbara Walters can't draw in the viewers now that she's no longer "friends" with Kathy Hilton and Joy Behar on a good day is about as funny as Carrot Top without his bucket of props.
I started watching when Rosie joined, and try to watch it when she left. Whatta a damn bore to watch those broads. Don't know how they are gonna turn the show around…Don't even think Kathy G will do the trick.
