Ashton Kutcher is really gunning for that Worst Stepfather of the Year Award. At the recent debutante ball in Europe, where Demi Moore's daughter Scout LaRue Willis was making her society debut (that's still a thing?) Kutcher was congratulated on his step-daughter's "coming out," a term that applies to belles who are entering the upper echelon of the social stratosphere.
Kutcher however, being a total numbnuts and totally tone-deaf over the proper occasions on which to punk, "looked at the dance floor and joked, 'As far as I know, she's dancing with boys.'"
Class act, that one. Between his bro-down with stepdaughter Rumer and making gay jokes at a high society European function, it's amazing that Demi even lets him out of the house to make political endorsements.
Excuse me . . . "high society European function" is not what this thing was. I mean, Scout Willis was "presented." How could that be "high society"??? You must mean that this Ball "used to be" high society until the people running it decided to take anybody with the money to pay.
One typically makes one's debut at a cotillion or dance in one's general social sphere, ie one's hometown or in the general vicinity. A movie-star's child doing the dip in Paris isn't quite the same thing. And the 18th annual Paris Crillon Ball (Le Bal Des Debutantes), where she made her curtsy, is somewhat déclassée.
