Have you found yourself thumbing through the television dial and stopping on The Rachel Zoe Project, only to become utterly confused, not because you don't understand why Bravo gave this lady her own reality show, but because you cannot understand anything she is saying? Ms. Zoe, the stylist who high-stepped into fame by getting fired by Nicole Richie, speaks her own language. This means she says "bananas" a lot. Also, everything makes her feel like "I would die." You were afraid blogs and text messaging were ruining children's grammar, but it's actually this woman.
So, herewith, a glossary.
"Shut up right now"
Used to suggest disbelief. Zoe uses this with some regularity in Episode 2.
"Witch vibes, witch vibes"
The otherworldly, almost supernatural sensation she feels when a dress is just right.
"Hero dress"
The perfect gown, the one that will save the day.
"Shutting it down"
Performing positively. As in, "Debra [Messing] is totally shutting it down," on the Emmy carpet.
"I feel like somebody punched me in the face and then woke me up"
Describes exhaustion, i.e. how tired Zoe feels after getting her clients dressed for the SAG awards.
"I'm a soldier of rising above it all,"
Describes her ability to overcome what the media says about her.

I think Rachel Zoe are one of those that you love to hate… I didn't know too much about her during the whole Nicole Richie fiasco. I have to say that after watching her show, I've grown to really like her! You can tell she's definitely passionate about her career and she's fabulous at it.

I love her. She's no phoney. I understand what she means. I think this article is mean and an expression of jealousy. Ignore all the criticism, Rachel. :)
I love the show actually, her assistants are a hoot. Brad is adorable. Rachel seems like a nice person who works hard, I don't understand all the hate.
her style is clearly what influenced all those "celebrities" that "fired" her. they totally stole her look!! I like her show actually and her catch phrases are hilarious. I use them all the time.

I dont love her or hate her but what I love is seeing all the clothes and accessories. That alone is worth the watch.

Any professional 35yo of Rachel's caliber would have a more polished look, air of sophistication, glamourous appeal, and distinct speech, seems Nicole R. and Paris H. lingo has rubbed off on her. For someone like Rachel that hob nobs it with the elite, you would expect a more distinguised style. The fact that she is trying to ghettofy herself at 35yo, is a clear indication that she is emotionally underdeveloped.
I like the show, Brad is my hero! to put up with all that drama and mess, he is definitely Queen for the day, every day.
I agree, Rachel's mouth area and chipmunk cheeks are a hypnotizing mess. I personally think, she's gone aneroxic to get rid of those cute chipmunk cheeks, when all she had to do is get lipo on her face….and THAT hair is a hot mess, I just want to wash it, detangle it, and brush it.
Some of the dresses are fab, and then others are NOT, but that's reality not everyone can play dress-up with real people. If I had my way, I would have dressed Rachel up a few times, some of those outfits, like that fur vest are GAGreflexing….aaaa I might have stumbled unto the problem….HAHAHAHA!
