Once again, we bring you a story about how it is impossible to work at Vanity Fair unless you know someone, know someone who knows someone, or are Anna Wintour's boytoy's kid.

Shelby Bryan (Anna Wintour's beau) has a daughter, Alexis. She was was hired as an intern at Vanity Fair two years ago, and recently, at at 27, she was named executive fashion editor.

After seething for a month, the others, like hard-working Christine Hahn, who quit yesterday, have seen the light. According to a VF insider who's not in the fashion department, they "realized they aren't going anywhere unless they marry someone on the social register" and are now seeking employment elsewhere.

And while it isn't hard to imagine the folks dropping left and right from the 4 Times Square staple aren't elitist or fashion-y (just a Yale degree and a Balenciaga or two) we can see how that preferential treatment would piss some people off. Christine Hahn should just grab any Suri Cruise lay-out she can get her hands on and bust.
