Violence Erupts at the RNC: Exactly No One is Surprised
You Down with GOP? You better be.

Battle in Seattle, the star-studded re-enactment of the 1999 WTO riots, was screened at Denver's DNC this month, but the real life equivalent was happening a week later at the Minnesota convention. The RNC already features at least three acts of random violence that are not related to Gustav, which just means you can expect a film version called Scrap in St. Paul in 10 years.
So who had the piss beat out of them by overzealous cops and cranky GOPs?
Christopher Beam got himself involved in a little rift between the Minnesota riot police and angry protesters yesterday. Unfortunately, "embedded reporter" doesn't seem like such a good idea when you're hanging out with those angry kids from college and they've taken up smashing cop car windows.
Democratic pundit Donna Brazile was nailed in the face with pepper spray yesterday during a protest that led to 56 arrests (the current tally is up to 250). Though Brazile declined to comment, you can pretty much guarantee this expression was used liberally.
Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman was violently arrested while trying to negotiate with the cops the release of two of her producers. Judge for yourself whether arm-yanking is now considered "excessive force" on the part of riot cops trying to keep the peace during a hazardous demonstration.
These stories make ABC producer Asa Eslocker's arrest at the DNC, and his cute attempts to make bail with a corporate card, practically Reader's Digest material.

Just wondering why you didn't go for <i?Brawl in St. Paul. Maybe I'm too much of a slave to rhyme.
This is great. Nothing like seeing wack job liberals getting maced. It's a beautiful thing.
