Was Tim Russert REALLY the Most Mourned Person Since John Lennon?
You really want to go up against Biggie?

"Tim Russert's death last Friday at the age of 58," proclaims Psychology Today's Dr. Stanton Peele, "produced the greatest national outpouring of grief for a single 'civilian' since John Lennon was killed in 1980."
That's a pretty hefty claim to make, given that so many famous "civilians" have died since Lennon. Among those in recent memory: Aaliyah, Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger, Ed Bradley, Sydney Pollack, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Hunter S. Thompson, Tupac Shakur, and yes, Notorious B.I.G. He had a hit single made about his death. So is the head doc magazine really going to stand behind this claim, or was it just because seemingly every television channel was running Russert coverage that it could be easy to think that way?

What about Princess Di? That produced an outpouring of grief over several continents…
Enough already about Tim Russert - he was a fucking journalist, not Jesus Christ….who gives a shit!
tell it Paul . …the 'coverage' on Friday with the wall to wall live obits on CNN + MSNBC were over the top ; yes, it seemed like a head of state had just passed;Tim WAS a highly esteemed + respected journalist, but it seems objectivity was overwhelmed by sentiment + grief at 'the networks' ; yes, they misused their mandate - it was extremely difficulut to get coverage of other breaking, hello flooded Iowa, newsworthy stories that late aft + on due to the public grieving process of said networks

My thoughts exactly
it was over the top. It says that the media think a media person is the most important kind of person there is. Talk about narcissistic and ridiculous. I mean I liked Russert's show but hey, he was hardly a giant to those other than in the media biz.
PRINCESS Diana was NOT a civilian.
