What Do You Know?
If you're Sarah Palin, not much

Other people besides us think that it was weird how Fox News bent over to accommodate Sarah Palin for her first post-election interview after they had just finished leaking information regarding her knowledge of NAFTA and Africa.

Howard Kurtz is on the offense too, towards stations that claim one thing on one program and then have their anchors condemn it on the next. Or maybe that's just what "fair and balanced" stands for.

Drawing on her considerable reserves of charm, she is using the media to complain about unfair media coverage.

(Baltimore Sun's) Zurawik calls the Van Susteren interview "beyond friendly," saying: "Greta Van Susteren is totally sympathetic to her and makes no secret about it."

And of course, Greta Van Susteren has her own opinions on Fox's leak:

Van Susteren says she is "scandalized" by the way journalists are using blind quotes to denigrate Palin. "I think anonymous sources have a place in journalism, on government malfeasance and whistle-blowing," she says. "But when did we become the National Enquirer that we're reporting gossip? It's very unfair."

Okay, is it unfair that anonymous charges be validated on air before they are fully fact-checked? Sure. But even more unfair is the idea that this is happening to Sarah Palin because she is such a victim, and everyone is so wrong to bring up any problems with her conduct during the campaign. Where was she giving interviews before the campaign was over? Where was Greta Van Susteren's girl-power sympathies then?

Now we know why they didn't let her talk to the media.
