What Would Happen If Other Magazines Followed The New Yorker's Lead

While The New Yorker defends its Barack Obama cover as satire, which was supposed to point out all the ridiculous right-wing smear tactics aimed at the candidate, critics of the cover have been using one tried and true logic experiment: What would everybody think if some place other than The New Yorker published it?

At last (yes, a full 24 hours later!), a cartoonist has solved the mystery.

They should have shown McCain shitting in his depends and spitting out his dentures.

Old people are so gross. They should require everyone to move to Florida when they turn 50 so we don't have to smell their stinky breath or watch their hemmorhoid commercials.

Not at all funny. It's one thing to ridicule McCain (who's deserving of it); another thing to insult old people as a whole. As my mom has said, "Someday, you too will be old."
