A couple months back, Jason Bateman appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann and not-so-subtly plugged the idea for a movie version of his sort of recently canceled show, Arrested Development. Like 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia, and all good things on TV right now, AD was a completely genius program that still managed to tank in the ratings despite a rabid cult following.
But while the rumor mill quickly churned all over the blogosphere (much of it Olbermann's fault, he's on top of the story like no other), Michael Cera broke everyone's heart by insinuating that he's done with playing George Michael, despite the fact that Cera owes his entire stardom to the awkwardness of that character. And even weirder, he keeps saying he knows nothing about any scripts in development, despite Jason Bateman's vocal promotions?
Whatever dude. We think that Cera made a huge mistake, and apparently so does the Internet Movie Database:

Now, no one is going to take IMDB's word over Michael Cera's, but it seems suspicious that the listing's been up for several days now, despite the actor's continued reticence to acknowledge that the movie's concept even exists. Wishful thinking, or is Michael holding back his definitive nix until after Nick and Nora premieres this weekend?

ok, here's the thing; it's supposed to be a documentary style show, so the characters aren't supposed to be VIEWED as characters. the last scene of the tv show had maeby picthing her show as a movie to ron howard; why then, couldn't they get someone else to play george michael? i mean, all you really need is an aside of lucille asking lindsay where george michael is, and having lindsay say he wouldn't sign the release so they had to get someone else to play him. have buster or tobias mention that he didn't even recognize him or something…
