Will Slate's Lady Zine be the Daily Beast to Jezebel's Huffington Post?
Women on the Web

Ugh, gosh. Hope not. That's a lot of websites to cram into just one analogy. Nevertheless, Slate's new XX Factor is positioning itself to be the "bookish, earnest" version of the already established Denton blog, Jezebel, which uses the patented (and at this point, practically copyrighted) brand of snark and irreverence that Gawker Media is known for.

Predicts Daily Intel, "There will be no laughing on this site, we suspect, though sometimes readers will occasionally be allowed a rueful, amused chuckle."

Sort of like Slate itself, right? Yawn. Although, one thing we could actually use more of is intelligent women blogs and vlogs. Amy Poehler's new web show Smart Girls have More Fun is only just the beginning of what we hope is an upward trend in media.
