With Star Slipping, the National Enquirer Is AMI's Only Hope

Star Mag

Hot off the success of actually breaking stories (read: O.J. Simpson's book, Lindsay Lohan's overdosing), National Enquirer editor David Perel is getting handed some of corporate cousin Star magazine's responsibilities.

Editorial director Bonnie Fuller, who oversees both titles, is giving Perel oversight of all West Coast stories (no matter that NE operates out of Boca Raton, Florida) after she's watched Star's newsstand sales slide to record lows. So why trust the supermarket tabloid with some of Star's most important duties?

Perhaps it has something to do with Star already stealing from the National Enquirer as it is.
